Your words deserve care.

How we use the information you choose to share with Yusra’s Promise.

Last updated: 2 October 2026

Who to contact

Yusra’s Promise is a family-led initiative. For questions about your information, contact the team at info@yusraspromise.org.uk.

What you share

Our forms ask for your name, an email address where we need to reply, and information relevant to your request. Email is optional for a promise. Depending on the form, you may also choose to give an age range, town or region, preferred chat times, or a child’s first name and story.

These forms are for people aged 18 or over. Please do not include medical records, full postal addresses or private information about other people. We will discuss any practical delivery details separately.

Why we use it

We use your submission to read and respond to your request, arrange support, receive your promise or discuss your story. We ask for your agreement to this on the form. We do not add you to a marketing list.

How submissions reach us

The site runs on Cloudflare. Forms are processed by a Cloudflare Worker and sent to the team’s Microsoft Outlook inbox. Email addressed to info@yusraspromise.org.uk is forwarded to yusraspromise@outlook.com. Cloudflare and Microsoft process information as part of providing these services.

Form contents are not stored in a public website database or added to GitHub. They remain in our correspondence so the team can handle your request. Technical hosting and security records may include your IP address, browser information and request time. We do not intentionally write form contents to application logs.

Stories and promises stay private by default

A submission is not permission to publish it. The optional sharing box lets us know whether you would like to discuss publication. We will agree the wording and how you or your family are named with you first. Your email address is never included in a published story or promise.

If you agree to publication, the agreed content will be on a public website and may be indexed by search engines or shared by readers. Please consider this before deciding what to share.

Cookies and spam protection

We do not use advertising cookies or marketing trackers. Fonts and photographs are served from our own site. Cloudflare Turnstile checks form submissions to reduce spam and may process device and network signals. You can read Cloudflare’s privacy policy for more about its services.

Keeping and removing information

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your request and any follow-up. You can ask us what information we hold, ask for a correction, withdraw your agreement, or request deletion by emailing the team. If there is a reason we need to keep something, we will explain it in our reply.

You can also request a published story or promise to be removed from our website. We cannot remove copies already made by other people or immediately remove search engine caches.

Concerns

Please contact us first if something does not feel right. You can also find information about your data protection rights and raising concerns at the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
