Our approach

Care in what we do. Care in what we share.

What you can expect from Yusra’s Promise and the information on this website.

Updated

A family-led promise

Yusra’s Promise was created by Madiha and Husnain in memory of their daughter. Our five pillars guide remembrance, learning, care, experiences and reflection. Meet the family and read our story.

Support, with clear expectations

Our tailored books, grief support boxes and peer chats are free. Delivery of books and boxes is UK-wide, subject to availability. A request begins a private conversation: the team agrees suitability, practical details and timing with you.

Chats offer a listening ear. They are not counselling, a clinical assessment or an emergency service. Our inbox is not monitored continuously. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

We aim to reply to support requests and general enquiries within 5 working days (Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays). This is a target for our first personal reply, not a confirmed booking or delivery date. Our inbox is not monitored continuously.

Read our safeguarding commitments and how to raise a concern.

Your family’s words stay yours

Sending a story or promise does not make it public. We ask separately whether you would like to discuss sharing it, and agree the wording and attribution before publication. You can ask us to correct or remove your information using the contact details in our privacy notice.

Guidance you can check

Our short resource guides offer everyday suggestions. Each guide links to the specialist source used and shows when that source was checked. The source organisations have not reviewed or endorsed our guides, and the pages are not presented as clinical advice.

Follow the linked organisation’s current guidance for fuller information. We identify family experiences as personal stories rather than advice that applies to everyone.

Reflect and improve

As an organisation we will reflect on all we do and make changes to ensure continued improvements.

If a page is unclear, a link no longer works, or something could be kinder or more useful, send the team feedback. Please include the page address and the change you suggest, without sharing another person’s private details.
